Since 1987, Isotech has been designing and engineering advanced automation solutions for a broad range of industries, including automotive, medical, packaging, food processing, semiconductors, electronics and more. Isotech can be a single source automation or mechanical motion supplier or work with systems integrators, military and government contractors. The company specializes in engineering multi-axis motion systems, gantries, and Cartesian robots built to customer specifications.
SCARA and articulating arm robots might be the most recognizable form of robot on the market today, but look to gantry robots for getting the big jobs done in the least amount of space. Gantry robots, also called Cartesian robots, are almost ubiquitous with automation but still are not quick to be regarded as serious robots. Due to their simple design, low cost and scalability and the myriad of motor and control software solutions, this is changing.
Cartesian gantry robot advantages include 3+ axis of movement of almost any length, scalability, the gearbox and motor can be sized according to range of motion and speeds and they are suitable for light to heavy/hanging loads. Applications include assembly, general automation, material handling, pick and place systems, and more.
